Pair arrested for child neglect after fentanyl, other drugs found in Clarksville home

Two people have been arrested for child neglect after drugs and drug paraphernalia were found inside their Clarksville home.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on Friday said Joshua Herdman, 22, and Logan Evitts, 19, have been taken into custody.

Inside their residence, agents found 53.4 grams of methamphetamine, 9.4 grams of fentanyl, 4.6 grams of marijuana, 83 gabapentin pills, a loaded revolver, and drug paraphernalia indicating drug sales.

A 1-year-old child was also inside the home at the time, prompting agents to call the Department of Child Services.

Herdman was booked on a $400,000 bond. He faces multiple charges, including manufacture sale distribution schedule II, meth violation, conspiracy for resale of fentanyl, simple possession schedule VI, possession without prescription, possession of weapon in commission of a felony, unlawful drug paraphernalia, child endangerment, domestic assault and fugitive from justice.
